Normfall Manager 4 - FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)

This FAQ answers frequently asked questions for working with Normfall Manager 4.

Question: "How can I connect to a server outside of the Windows domain by entering an IP address?"

Answer: To do this the application has to be started with the command line parameter "/oledb:sqlncli" and the SQL Server Client Components have to be installed. Then enter your registration information under "database" in the options. Use the "SQL Server Authentification" mode and enter the server name in the form "IpAddresse\NamedServerInstance" or simply just "IpAddress".

Question: "How do I need to configure my browser to support local copies of attached web documents and automatic login to online databases (Juris)?"

Answer: If a web site requires authorization, you may need to activate cookies to use the "local copies" feature for attaching documents in a project. For automatic login, protected mode must be switched off for the site (this is only relevant on Windows Vista or higher).

If you don't accept cookies in general, you can make an exception by adding a web site to the exception list on Internet Options|Privacy|Sites.

If you use protected mode in general, you can switch off protected mode for trusted sites by unchecking Internet Options|Security|Trusted Sites|Protected Mode and adding the site to the Trusted list by using the Sites button under Trusted Sites.

Adding a site to the Trusted Sites list will, under all configurations known to us, achieve the same as adding it to the exception list for privacy.
